EUDAMED has been mandatory for six months, and the next key deadline for legacy medical devices is fast approaching.
Devices placed on the market under the former Medical Devices Directive (MDD), Active Implantable Medical Devices Directive (AIMDD), or In Vitro Diagnostic Medical Devices Directive (IVDD), and which continue to benefit from the applicable transitional provisions, must be registered in EUDAMED by 27 November 2026, where applicable.
Manufacturers of legacy devices are strongly advised to review their portfolios and ensure that all applicable registration requirements are fulfilled before the deadline. Taking action early can help avoid last-minute delays and support continued compliance with the EU regulatory framework.
