As many of our readers are aware, in July we had the pleasure of attending WHX Kuala Lumpur, a leading international exhibition for the medical and healthcare industry in the ASEAN region. The event, held in Malaysia’s vibrant capital, brought together key players from across Southeast Asia’s medical device and health tech sectors.
During our time at WHX, we had the opportunity to engage directly with a wide range of manufacturers, from the ASEAN region. Through one-on-one discussions, we were able to provide valuable insights into the complex regulatory landscape of the European Union medical device market.
Our team focused on explaining how our core services — particularly our role as an Authorised Representative under the EU Medical Device Regulation (MDR) and our technical file consultancy — can support non-EU manufacturers in achieving EU market access. Many participants showed strong interest in understanding how to ensure compliance with the MDR and IVDR and how to navigate CE marking requirements efficiently and cost-effectively.
We are pleased to report that the exhibition was a great success, both in terms of the quality of engagement and the number of meaningful connections made. It reaffirmed the growing interest and readiness of ASEAN manufacturers to expand into the European market — and the value of having a knowledgeable EU-based partner to guide them through the regulatory process.
Building on the momentum of WHX Kuala Lumpur, we are now exploring the possibility of exhibiting at next year’s event, WHX Bangkok, which promises to be an even larger platform for regional engagement. We look forward to continuing to support ASEAN manufacturers on their journey to Europe and strengthening our ties within this dynamic and innovative region.
